Pets are wonderful! Their unconditional love and funny quirks is what made you want a pet in the first place. Whether you have a large dog, an old cat, or a tiny gerbil, this post should help you improve your pet’s life in one way or another.
1. FOOD AND WATER:
It’s true they usually don’t eat quite as much food as you do,but lets not forget that if they don’t eat enough they will likely get depressed much like a human does. No one likes being hungry. On that note, don’t feed your pet poor quality food. It is a minor request when you think of all the luxuries we get for ourselves (i.e.TV’s, Smartphones, designer clothes). Moreover, healthier food and lots of water can help with your pet’s digestive system and all around health.
Dogs and cats need exercise to stay healthy and happy, just like humans. Since exercise increases energy levels and releases dopamine into your brain it is important that you and your pet both get exercise everyday. By walking your dog ten minutes a day or by playing with your cat for five minutes you will improve their health and yours.
Now this might just improve your life even more than your pets! By giving your dog a bath, replacing the water in the fish tank, or changing the litter in your cat’s litter box, you can keep your pet healthy and clean and your house and bed smelling fresh!
Take a couple minutes every week to clean your pet’s teeth. Your pet’s all around health is often affected by their dental hygiene. It is an easy problem to prevent and although your pet may be feisty, in the end they will thank you.
A good toy can entertain a cat or dog for hours. This small change can improve the life of your pet greatly with almost no effort or time of your own. This is especially good for those of you who are at work all day.
A happy owner is a happy pet and vice versa. If you are always in a bad mood then your pet can sense it. Dogs and cats especially can tell when their owner is feeling down and how can they be happy if you aren’t? It may not be because of them and you may have a valid reason for being sad but the good thing about a pet is they can give just as much as they get. Let them make you happy and you can make them happy in return.
